Count me in.

I should be there virtually if I can't be there in person due to weather.

Great that both you guys can make it. As soon as we hear from a few more folks we can finalize location.

I'm in.

Glad to hear it, Yattering.

I am TOTALLY bummed. I cannot make it!

Any chance of the 16th?

The 15th works for me. Can't wait.

So sorry Bat. I am booked tight the entire rest of the weekend. Is there anything you can do to free up next Friday?

If not, does anyone have interest in getting together one additional time this month before the new semester starts in earnest? How about Saturday, 1/30 for example?

Who could make that date in addition to Friday 1/15?

batman1970 said...

I could make it instead of, but I don't even know whether I could make it electronically. I'm willing to explore it, but I'm not overly hopeful. We actually have three things scheduled at the same time Friday. I don't see any immediate problems with the 30th.

Riley said...

I'm pretty sure I could make it the 30th as well.

Good news, Andy.

Can anyone else make it on the 30th as well? If Bat is unable to make it this Friday and others are able to make it the 30th as well, I suggest we schedule an additional session (in addition to Friday 1/15, that is) for 1/30 ASAP.

Please chime in regarding your status for 1/15 and/or 1/30 if you haven't done so previously.

I should be able to play on the 30th, though like the last Sunday night session, I won't be able to play terribly late, as I have to be up early to get the kids off to school, etc.

I am willing to host this Friday, 1/15, if need be.

Aeschere:

1) Will you still have to end early on 1/30 even though it is a Saturday and not a Sunday night?
2) Do you feel like having the group over at your place this coming Friday? If so, why don't we plan on meeting at your place on 1/15?

I am not available to meet the 15th (haven't been able to schedule around it), but I am available on the 30th. I'm looking forward to meeting with the group again, as I had a lot of fun last time.

Great!

By my count we have at least 4-5 to play 1/15 and at least 4-5 to play 1/30 as well.

Let's plan on playing on both dates, then. Unless Aeschere changes his mind, we'll be at Fox's house on 1/15. Our location for the 1/30 date is currently TBD.

Matt Fox said...

My place it is on the 15th. And I obviously looked at the calendar too quickly; 1/30 can be a late night, as it is a Saturday.

I can play on the 30th

It looks like I could come between 9:30 and 10:00 or so on the 15th. If that works, I'd love to joint the group then.

On the 30th, I can host if that works.

And a quick gaming note, since I can't be there for the beginning of the adventure this Friday: Since we have arrived in early afternoon (if I remember correctly) in Jinnstown, I think it would be in our best interests to have the fighters set a watch and try to sleep while the Magic Users get some sleep and try to replenish spells. Since Goblins tend to do better at night, we should do all we can to get our mages those spells back. I also recommend that they load up on healing and sleep (not that you wouldn't anyway, but I think magic missile is going to be too limiting).

As for some defenses, I think it would be a very good idea to see if we can spend some time looting Jinnstown (in a politically correct way -- ask them so that we can help them) for anything offensive or defensive in the father's warehouse (or whatever) Jinn told us about.

Finally, if they attack en masse (and it certainly looks like they're going to), I suggest we use the calpops we tried to use to scare the horses during our theft of the antiquities from the carriage. I'm wondering if the DM could work out how we could use them as a hand-grenade type of weapon (particularly with a sling if possible) -- so that if we aim into the center but miss, could we still get some collateral damage?

As you can probably tell, I've been thinking about this quite a bit, so I was REALLY disappointed that I wouldn't be able to make it. Better late than not at all though.

Riley said...

Glad you'll be there at all. I agree with your thoughts on preparation. We should also spend time quickly getting the lay of the land from whomever's in charge.

Matt Fox said...

I really hope you can make it in person, Andy. The virtual Andy is better than none at all, but it's not quite the same as having you there. Let's hope the weather cooperates.

Riley said...

It looks good so far. Friday is supposed to be in the mid 40s with occasional rain. *fingers crossed*

post festum said...

Some good ideas, Bat. Just for clarification:

1) The sun was almost completely set as you made your dash across the bridge and through the gatehouse of Jinstown, so it isn't exactly early afternoon. More like 5:30PM.

2) I'll give the calpop question some thought and have something worked out by Friday. Just don't expect them to do any kind of serious damage.

And the dm also hopes to see Andy in person this weekend. Drive carefully!

Matt Fox said...

I am afraid I am not going to be able to host this Friday, after all. Is anyone else able to host? My apologies to all for the inconvenience.

Riley said...

Obviously, if this venue issue leads to a call off, someone will let me know, yes?

post festum said...

Nothing has changed except the location. We are most certainly still a go for both 1/15 and 1/30.

Just working a few details out and will post the new location here soon.

Riley said...

Alright, I'll be there with my trusty d20 at my side.

Here's a quick response to a question Andy had that I thought others might have as well:

Question: When a PC levels up, how are new HP distributed?

Answer: In the Eime campaign, each new level before 10th a PC is allowed to roll a single additional hit dice and add it to their total max HP.

So a new second level fighter, for example, gets to roll 1d6+2 and add that to her/his original 8 HP. The new total is her/his new max possible HP.

Alas, I am unable to attend. May the adventures be song worthy and the treasure be dragon-sized!

P.S. I anticipate being available on the 30th.

Ok - The dm's home will be our 1/15 location. See you all tomorrow night at 6PM.

...And good to hear from you both, zenpablo and Drin. Hopefully you will both be able to join us on 1/30!

Just some suggestions to help you survive.

Have a few archers always ready and put them in a protected spot.

If you are a melee fighter get a few javelins or hand axes to soften up charging opponents at a distance.

Set up barricades to funnel in goblins to make a killing gauntlet.

Use flaming oil to assist on this as well.

Set up a few traps. With the group of players that it sounds like you have this should be very clever.

Keep on posting your adventures! Really cool read.

Again, thanks for the thoughtful suggestions and compliments, Eldrad. The PCs were thinking along your lines - even including a few attempts to make use of flaming oil. Thanks for stopping by!
