Friday's Session

On Friday July 2, we will be playing at Matt and Heather's home in ER. Thanks to them for graciously volunteering to host. We will begin at 7:00.

I have family coming in from out-of-town that day, so I will most likely be joining late. I will ask Matt to play Lilyth for me.

I thought Matt and Heather were hosting family in from out of town. Hopefully we aren't kicking them out for the evening!

We did some rearranging. My aunt and uncle are arriving from Connecticut on Friday. They were originally going to be staying here, but are now going to my mom's. Matt's mom was to be coming in on Friday as well to stay with us, but we convinced her to come on Saturday instead. There's big family doings this weekend!

D&D or the in-laws? It was a tough choice...

Thanks very much, H&M. I honestly hope this didn't put you in a bad position with visiting relatives.

So, we are expecting 8...or possibly 9?

Calysta said...

Do you mean starting time, number of players, or number of character deaths? I'm not sure about the last two, but starting time is 7.

Riley said...

Yes, Matt and Heather, you are officially the Heroes of the Night™ and we haven't even made our first rolls yet!

Calysta said...

Aw, shucks, you guys are swell.

@Calysta: In fact, I was referring to the number of players in attendance. I'm not at all optimistic that we'll keep the number of PC deaths in that range, however.

What time do you think you'll be able to join us, Hebs?

Anyone up for a preparatory feast?

I'm not completely sure on the time. I have to play ambassador for a couple hours to acquire/ensure our favorable position for this weekend's events. Maybe 8ish or 9ish? Don't quote me on that though. Matt will play Lilyth, as it seems she is the only remaining fighter at this point. Hopefully, she will still be in play when I return. Hopefully... :)

So, exactly how many players, then? Does anyone know? I'd like to get the table(s) and chairs set up this afternoon, if possible.

Pretty sure we have at least 8...But no more than 9 if Paul is able to join us tonight.

Hey gang.

I do plan to join in tonight but was not sure until this afternoon. Sorry for the last minute notice.

I'll be there, but I'm not available for earlier feasting.

I just realized that Thimble has leveled up and is now a Lv 3 Thief. Not that that will do her a lot of good or get her out of the tower dungeon or anything....

Riley said...

Thanks, Carl, for a lively evening. I had a blast. Thanks to all for staying alive. We might need to return to town, though, to reprovision. At the very least, Thimble might well need a new pair of boots as the soles in her current pair are probably running a bit thin from all the running. Sorry, Julia. Couldn't resist :-P

Julia said...

Nah, Thimble's fine. Thick soles, you see. :-)

Had lots of fun, but my son was a bit disappointed with the re-cap. Compared to the gruesome details of the past several nights, this one didn't sound as interesting to a 12-year-old boy. Go figure!

My first words to Jay upon greeting him this morning at the parade and shindig: "You're still alive!" The joy in his face was priceless.

Riley said...

Glad to hear it. Jay, the lesson here: playing a melee character with an armor class of greater than 10 has its advantages. Have a great fourth everyone.

Thanks for the great evening, everyone. I absolutely love how our cooperative strategies and tactics (and even the kinds of questions we ask of NPCs) have all evolved and matured just in these four sessions. I wouldn't expect that my 12-year old self would have appreciated this much, but the adult I've become sure does.

I look forward to playing again as soon as it can be arranged.

I agree with Post here -- any way we could arrange a get-together for the 17th? I'm pretty sure I could offer my humble abode again. What say you, DM? Any chance for a quick turnaround? I'm eager to get Bian Fu back into play for a second session. . . . (We'll then see how long he lasts). . . .

Next session, we will be starting in the dungeon with a full complement of characters. Has this ever happened before? We should be able to do some serious exploring the next time we play. I can't wait!

I can do the next session at Jay's on the 17th. Who else can make it?

Riley said...

I'm pretty sure I can make it.
