I will post a campaign update with experience points, but for now I just wanted to suggest either Friday May 14 or Saturday May 15 for our next date. Thoughts?
I'm leaving to go to my nephew's high school graduation Saturday May 15th, so I'm only available for Skyping in on Friday. Since all my characters are dead, you can certainly marshal on without me if Saturday is best for everyone, though.
I would not be able to be there in person on Friday (wouldn't get there until after you've started anyway, plus I would have to leave early), so Saturday would work best for me.
If we do it Friday, would I be able to use Skype in addition to Andy? Not sure if this would be workable for me, but I wanted to know if it would be an option.
OK then. While we haven't heard from everyone, it seems like Friday, May 14 is our best bet. Julia, we should be able to "skype" you in I think. If skyping, can you play longer than a few hours?
I'm not sure that I would be able to be present any longer if I am virtual (maybe just 2 hours), so I might just bow out this time. Looking ahead, do you guys meet more often over the summer?
Bad news for me guys, and hopefully good news for Julia. It turns out I had my calendar all wrong. We are actually leaving for my nephew's graduation Friday not Saturday, so I'm out this time around. That frees you guys up for Saturday gaming though if that fits most people's schedules. Sorry for the mix up. As Ricky Ricardo might say, "You got some 'Splorin' to do!"
That's too bad. Andy and Julia will both be missed by everyone, I'm sure. Since the chief reason for playing on Friday was too accommodate both of them, I propose we shift the date to Saturday, the 15th. Who is in for that date?
Actually, Carl, I think Julia said that Saturday was her preference all along. Unless I missed something, she should be available, so you'll just be without me and my two dead riddle-fucking-up characters.
Well, you'll have me and some potentially new riddle-fucking-up characters. . . . I promise to keep my mouth shut this time if we're told there are lives on the line.
I'm fine with the 15th, and my house is still available.
Illness has descended upon my home, but I've come out of bed long enough to reply. Yes, as long as I'm healthy by next Saturday, I will indeed be free to play on the 15th, live and in person.
By my count, it looks like the two Matts and I have offered our abodes to the cause. Who makes these fateful decisions? Do we have to have some kind of throwdown? Will Carl roll the 6-sided die with a 1-2 for me, 3-4 for Post and 5-6 for Aeschere? What is the procedure? Dammit, is there no one Lawful enough to have a plan?
P.S. will no one claim the cardigan left at my house?
After careful consideration, numerous discussions, and full attention to all the nuances surrounding this matter it looks like Matt and Heather's is the best bet. What time is good for the two of you? I'll post a campaign update some time before the end of the week.
Although I can't for the life of me recall having worn my heavy blue sweater last month, my cursory glance in the closet didn't turn up anything. Perhaps it's mine??? Sorry!
Julie, we're at 215 West Elm Street in East Rochester. The street runs just south of Commercial Street. If you have been friends with Jay for more than 8 years, you may remember it as his old house. If you want more detailed directions, drop me an email at mattfox@rochester.rr.com.
Sorry, All-- I'm unable to attend this evening. My brother just graduated with his Master's from the U of R, and my family is throwing an impromptu party. Ugh. I'd rather be dispatching the undead. If I can sneak away early, I will. Tony
"Common, standard hirelings are basically the usual craftsmen or laborers taken on by lower level player characters...In general the various occupations represented here are common to most settlements of village-size and above, although each and every village will not be likely to furnish each and every sort of common hireling." (ad&d "Dungeon Master's Guide", 1979) p. 28.
A careful (and at times even overly analytic) exploration of the traditions of "old school" fantasy roleplaying by two former d&d apostates who have recently returned to the game's roots. All advice and any suggestion is welcome.
Expect a particular focus on the retro-clone of OD&D, Swords & Wizardry as well as the occasional session recap from ongoing games. In our games we steal unabashedly from the great OD&D blogs linked to below.

I'm up for either date, but would loosely prefer Sat. the 15th.

Heather and I should be able to do either night.
We would need two laptops with webcams to Skype two people, so Heather and I could bring ours if both Julia and Andy need to play from afar.
Hello everyone,
Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. Either day will work, so I'm happy with whatever.
I can host if it's convenient.

Someone left a blue cardigan here last time. Please let me know if it is yours and we can get it to you.

Apologies to Julia for being confused on the dates. Julia, can you join us on the 15th?

Glad to hear it, Julia / Sorry to hear it, Andy.
Looking in forward to seeing you all come Saturday.
6PM start?
I expect to be able to join in this Saturday, as well.
Sounds great. Do we have a location?
Heather and I will be happy to host if that works out for everyone.

I love my nephew to death, but I'm really, really pissed at his poorly timed graduation. Have fun, folks.
I think Matt Hachee suggested a 6PM start time. That's fine if it works for everyone else. See you all here on Saturday!
Would someone please email me an address and/or directions? Thanks!
